Is there are way to change the location of the attachments? If I import all attachements to my desktop and then burn them on to a DVD for Archival purposes, is there a way to change the field in Filemaker to reflect that change?

Thanks!

Mike,

At present, there's not a built-in way in the database to revise imported attachment paths. This may be something that you can do with a find/replace across multiple records in your database. I'll add this to my list of requests, and see if there's a way that I can address it in the future.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Regards,

-Ben

Can the location of the Attachment folder be on the server? I want to implement this for a group of Mail.app users.

The attachment folder can be on any drive, remote or local, so long as it is connected to the Mac on which the solution is running. So, yes, it can reside on a server. Just be sure that the server volume is mounted on the desktop.

Thanks,

Is there a size limitation for Attachments to be handled in M2FMI? If I try to import mails with attachments with about 18MB, M2FMI crashes.

What happenes if two different attachments in two different mails have the same name? Does M2FMI rename one of these or will it delete one of the two attachments?

Thanks

M2FMI will not delete attachments. If multiple attachments have the same name, then M2FMI will add unique numeric suffixes, so as not to overwrite existing items. I.e. filename, filename1, filename2, etc.
