Turn off notifications

Turn off notifications

Postby lawrencegoodman » 01.13.09 11:24 am

I am using the capitalize applescript in conjunction with keyboard maestro and I want it to just run, not tell me that the clipboard text has been converted. Is there a way to turn off the notifications?

Thank you very much.

There's presently no way to disable the notifications for Clipboard Scripts. However, you could accomplish the desired task using our TextEdit Automator Action Pack.

I've attached an example of a workflow that would do just this.

This is very helpful. Thank you.

I was wondering though if there is a way to you the change case automator action without moving the contents first the clipboard.

What I want to do is take the selected text in a document, pass it to the change case action, and then have it replace the old text with the new text.

Can this be done?

Thanks.

There are some actions that can get the selected text in specific applications (i.e. "Get Selected Content from Word Documents" (included with Office 2008 full version). However, unfortunately, there is no way for Automator to get the selection within every application.

There is a utility called ThisService http://wafflesoftware.net/thisservice/, which will potentially allow an AppleScript to be written to do this. But, I'm not aware of a way to do it with Automator.
