Who We Are

Ben WaldieBen Waldie, president of Automated Workflows, LLC, has been a vocal evangelist of AppleScript, and a developer of professional AppleScript-based solutions for businesses across the globe for years. Automated Workflows, LLC was created from his strong desire to provide clients with solid, reliable AppleScript-based solutions, complete with impeccable customer service and support. Today, Ben is continuing to revolutionize business workflows with his expert knowledge of AppleScript-based automation, while providing his clients with the customer service that they deserve.

Ben began his career as the lead AppleScript Engineer for TV Guide Magazine. There, he developed revolutionary solutions that allowed TV Guide to save an incredible amount of time, money, and resources. He has since developed professional-level automated solutions for other well known companies, including Abercrombie and Fitch, Adobe Systems, Apple Inc., CNN, Microsoft Corporation, NASA, PC World, and Time Magazine.

Ben is author of the best selling books Automator for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard: Visual QuickStart Guide (Peachpit Press), AppleScripting the Finder and Mac OS X Technology Guide to Automator, as well as an introductory AppleScript training CD for the Virtual Training Company. He has written numerous AppleScript and Automator articles for Macworld magazine, MacTech magazine, X-Ray Magazine, and MacScripter.net, and has also written Automator articles, tips, and techniques for Apple Inc.'s website. Ben is frequently featured as a speaker at industry events, such as Macworld Expo.

President and founder of The Philadelphia Area AppleScript User's Group, Ben has received recognition on several prominent web sites, including Apple Inc.’s AppleScript web page. In 2006, Ben's Ultimate Productivity Automator Action Pack: Build Real Estate Demo was the recipient of the Apple Design Award for Best Mac OS X Automator Workflow.

Ben lives in Pennsylvania with his wife and two children.

Jen WaldieJen Waldie, Vice President of Automated Workflows, LLC, is primarily responsible for communication, marketing, and administrative tasks. As part of her administrative duties, she helps to ensure that clients receive the highest quality of customer service.

Jen is a graduate of West Chester University in Pennsylvania, where she achieved the honor of magna cum laude upon receiving her Bachelors Degree in Music Education. Jen's first love is music, and for 11 years, she maintained her own studio, teaching private violin and viola lessons to all ages of children.

Jen has extensive experience in the retail field. She gained an understanding of the Macintosh operating system and AppleScript during her previous employment with TV Guide Magazine. Involved for years behind the scenes with Automated Workflows, LLC, in January 2006, Jen became an official company partner.

In addition to her role at Automated Workflows, LLC, Jen enjoys continuing to teach a small number of music students, and playing both violin and viola for weddings and other special events. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and two small children.
